Yum-Yum is an engaging, government-funded pop-up event designed to introduce elementary school children in grades K-5 to the essentials of healthy eating. Hosted directly within their school, this interactive program spans 4 hours and provides hands-on learning in an environment where children feel comfortable and excited to explore new foods.

Throughout the event, children are taught to prepare a variety of fun, nutritious snacks, allowing them to see that healthy food can be both enjoyable and easy to make. The program emphasizes the importance of nutrition in a way that’s easy to understand, focusing on how good food choices can help them feel strong, energized, and ready to learn.

Our pop-up event aims to teach children as much as possible but habits can’t be corrected overnight. That’s why our website is here to support both parents and children at home. Parents can check event dates in their area, discover healthy recipes, and connect with other parents for advice. Meanwhile, children can enjoy engaging games that encourage and reward healthy choices.

Staff will be provided with lanyards so the children know who to approach if they have questions. On the other end, the child will have their own lanyard that will display their name and grade. The Staff will be working with large groups of children at a time so these badges will simplify having to remember names.

Throughout the pop-up event, children will be guided from section to section with banner’s. Each banner having a pocket full of recipe cards that the children are allowed to keep.
